Sanmoore Status

Mayor Charles Hart reported to the council that, based on his conversation with Wayne Sullivan at Jefferson County Roads and Transportation, the culverts will be installed this fall as part of the Sanmoore flood mitigation project.

He said the city can do some ditch work now.

At a previous meeting, June Buzbee, who had the most damage from floods in that subdivision, said the water has not gotten into her basement from recent rains. She said it came to the top of the ditch behind her house, but did not cause any damage.

Hart said the county is purchasing a double barrel culvert to go under Sanmoore Drive. But the other culverts the county is buying  will be single barrel.
