After months of rumors, on June 19 former Clay-Chalkville Middle School teacher Julie Pritchett was arrested. She is charged with two counts of Sodomy 2nd Degree and one count of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree. The accusation is that one of the incidents was between her and a Clay-Chalkville High School student on school property but after school hours.

After the youth's father made a complaint to the Sheriff's Office, Pritchett was put on administrative leave by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. She resigned before the school year ended.

Pritchett was sponsor of the Diamond Dolls at CCMS. She also was a sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Pritchett was a special education teacher with the Jefferson County School system for nine years, said Nez Calhoun, public relations director of the system.

Pritchett lives in Kimberly. She is being held on $66,000 bond.
